Bernardo Footwear was founded in 1947 by Bernard Rudofsky, who was a distinguished painter, photographer, designer and scholar among other accomplishments. Bernardo footwear has a rich Italian heritage, which lives on to this very day.
In fact, Bernardo is the only U.S. manufacturer which has its own design and product development team based in Florence, Italy. Designers Dennis and Lynne Comeau, along with lead technician Alessandro Giordano, maintain both the design and technical office while working with their staff to produce some of the finest footwear.
