It all started with an iconic wrap-dress that debuted in 1972. By 1976, Diane Von Furstenberg sold millions of her genius creation and was instantly on fashion's map of stars. It wasn't until 1997 that Diane re-emerged onto the scene by re-launching her line of wrap-dresses and adding more current and contemporary pieces that related to stylish women of today. Her re-invention of herself to fit into fashion's modern day era not only was a success, but propelled her label to new heights of achievement and recognition as a global luxury lifestyle brand. In 2005, she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and one year later she was elected president of the organization.
