Matt Bernson

Matt Bernson launched in 2005 with a small collection of handmade sandals after finding inspiration on a trip to India. Based in Tribeca, he designs women's shoes with a distinctly downtown sensibility. Using beautiful, naturally tanned leather on original constructions, the result is simple and rustic, with a strong emphasis on comfort engineering, reinforced by Matt's background in the building industry.

He garnered substantial attention four years ago when he launched his gladiator sandal with its distinctive gold rivets edging a padded insole, the style for which he is best known. Beyond that design is a range of styles in his collections: ballet flats, shearling boots, casual wedges, oxford styles, rugged boots and heeled booties. While he has a famous fan base, Matt's mission from the beginning was to make fashionable quality footwear available to many, celeb and student alike.
